Payment
Most of the shops and restaurants accept credit cards. The most used card is Visa. Use cash when paying at small shops and restaurants. It is very easy to copy the credit card on the "back room". Be careful when you draw money from the ATM. Many robberies are at the ATM.

Shops
Most shops are open from 0800 am to 0500 pm in the weekdays and 0800 am to 0100 pm on Saturdays.

Tax Free
The cheaper to by at the liquor stores than on the Tax Free at the airport. The VAT is refunded on the airport.

Car rentals
Book the car in advance since they can all be rented out when you need one. In South Africa they drive on the left hand side of the road. The speed limit is 120 km/h. The road infrastructure is very well developed. Petrol price is R 5,50 pr l. There s no problem to drive around in South Africa.

Restaurants
It is very cheap to eat at restaurants in South Africa. And the food is very nice.

Malaria
There is no Malaria in the central and southern part of South Africa. You will fine Malaria when doing safari in the Kruger National Park and it’s surroundings.

Criminality
Is mainly a problem in the large towns. Don’t walk out alone late at night. South Africans are very friendly and helpful.

Flora
South Africa is very restrictive regarding the nature. They are well known for the beautiful flowers you fine in the countryside. Remember, you are not allowed to pick them.
